March 2014 Favorites

Hey everyone! Did you have a good weekend? I definitely did! I had my MAC Cosmetics classes  this past Saturday, and they were fun! All the girls in the class sat and watched the makeup artists do a day time and night time look on models. They gave us tips and tricks, as well as TONS of product knowledge. I'm not kidding when I say I want all the MAC things. Their products are amazing. Especially the "Mineralize" line. Uhhhhhh, why can't I be a billionaire? Anyway, it was fun. If they do anything like this in your area, definitely sign up. You'll get a lot out of it for sure.

Today's post is all about my March favorites. I have quite a few new things this month, as well as some old favorites that I absolutely love. I'll share photos, give my personal reviews and opinions, and show swatches.  As always, all thoughts will be in the captions below each picture. Enjoy!

First up, I have the Aussie "Hair Insurance" leave in conditioner. I can't remember if I've mentioned this on the blog yet or not, but I have VERY fine, limp hair. So, I am pretty picky about the products I use, because most leave my hair feeling weighed down and greasy. So, I tried this in hopes that it would help with the static electricity from the cold weather without leaving my hair feeling all nasty. Well, it surprised me in all the best ways. It totally helped with all the static, didn't weigh my hair down or leave it greasy, and it smells AMAZING!!! I usually take showers at night because I'm not a morning person. So, if it comes down to sleeping for another 30 minutes or getting a shower, I will almost always choose sleep, haha. Anyway, I will put this stuff in my hair, then let my hair air dry overnight. Even after sleeping on my hair all night, it doesn't leave me oily. It's awesome! And it's only $3-4! Love this stuff!!

Next up is the Freeman's Facial Clay Mask/ Mint & Lemon. I saw this product mentioned on a blog last summer some time, and decided to pick one up. Again, this product is only $4-5, so I was like "what the heck... I'll give it a whirl." I am so glad I did! This mask makes my skin feel soooo nice and soft. It's not drying at all, and the clay in it is really good for my oily skin. I really feel like my skin looks better too after using it.

As you can see, it's pretty thick and green.

Just wet your face with warm water to open your pores, then apply this mask all over. Wait till it dries (you'll feel it get tight) and rinse it off with warm water. Your skin will thank you, I promise! They have a Black Clay one that I've seen, and am very interested in. I just haven't bought it yet. I'm sure I'd love that one too!

Moving on to makeup products, I first have the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil in "Perversion." This is the blackest black eye liner I have ever used. It goes on so smoothly, and is easily blendable, but it stays put. I have the other black liner from this brand called "Zero," and when you put them side by side, "Perversion" makes "Zero" look like a dark grey. It's super black! I have problems with eye liners staying in my waterline for more than 2 seconds. My eyes are very sensitive and water easily. So, what I usually do is apply a layer of this liner to the waterline, let it set in for about 30-45 seconds, then apply a second layer. Doing that helps the liner stay put on the waterline for a longer period of time. I won't look in the mirror an hour later, and see that it's all worn off. It really does last a long time. I love this liner. And Sephora actually has this liner in a set of three. They are travel size, but deluxe travel sizes, with "Perversion" being one and a navy and a brown for the other two for $19. That gives you three pencils for the price of one regular sized liner. Awesome deal!

See how black it is? That's one swipe! Love it!

Now I have my new holy grail product. The MAC Pro Longwear concealer. I. Am. Obsessed. This is seriously the BEST concealer I have ever used. It is full coverage, but not too thick. And it freakin stays put. I've had about 3-4 weeks to test this out, and it is amazing. Seriously. I put my makeup on every morning around 6am, and don't usually take it off until around 9pm. I'm not kidding when I tell you this stuff is still on, and hasn't moved, melted, or worn off at all. Now, I just sit at a computer all day, so it's not like I'm doing anything vigorous to make it come off. But this stuff really has staying power. SUCH a good concealer. It is on the pricier side at $19. In my opinion, it's worth every penny. Everyone needs this in their life. Obsessed.

This is one full pump. That one pump will do my entire face with some left over. It's not super thick, but not super thin. Perfect consistency.

And it covers like a dream. SO GOOD!

Next up is the BH Cosmetics 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette. I got this because I wanted to do more colorful tutorials for you all, but I didn't want to have to keep buying individual drugstore quads, or single colors, cause that gets really expensive really fast. I have had my eye on these palettes for awhile, and decided to go ahead and get one. This one is the 1st edition. I believe they have 4 or 5 different editions of the 120 palettes. This one had the brightest colors.

This is how it looks when you first open it up. Oooooo, pretty!

Then you lift up the first tray, and you have another removable tray full of more colors.

I just think this picture is pretty...

The first tray has your blues, greens, yellows and oranges. There are a mixture of matte and shimmer shadows, which is nice.

The second tray has a few more greens and blues, but then has your pinks, purples and neutral colors. Perfect mixture.

I took the four colors in the third row from the top, in the middle of this picture...

And swatched them here. Some are super pigmented, while others you kind of have to work with to get really good color payoff. But that's to be expected when you get a palette with 120 colors for $15. BH Cosmetics was having a sale (they're ALWAYS having awesome sales) and all of the 120 color palettes were $14.95. So, I jumped on that. And I love it! You can only purchase BH Cosmetics from their website, www.bhcosmetics.com. They have amazing prices, and the shipping is really fast too!

Another product I got from BH is the 10 Color Blush Palette. They have this one, and the Glamorous 10 Color Palette, which you'll see in a minute. I got these when I was getting the eyeshadow palette. This was only $10, and you have so many colors to choose from!

You can see they have awesome colors. And like the eyeshadow palette, some of the blushes are super pigmented, while others you have to build up. I don't mind that with blush though because I want a sheer wash of color. Not a big streak of some crazy color, haha. I swatched the first four colors in the second row for you below.

Pretty colors!

This is the Glamorous Blush 10 Color Palette.

It's just as beautiful with some different colors. This one was $10 also. I swatched the last three colors from the bottom row for you below.

These are a bit more pigmented!

So, there you go! My March favorites! I hope you all enjoyed this blog post. I always love reading about products other people love. It shows me more of what is out there, and what products are worth the money. I love every single one of these products and recommend them all. Let me know what some of your favorite products are in the comments below, or on my Facebook page, "Beautymark." Thank you sooo much for reading, and I'll see you soon!
