Hey guys! Hope you all have been well! As you can see, I've done a bit of work to the blog. I was getting really bored of how bland the layout was, and how plain everything looked. So, I changed it up. Do you all like it? I'm not sure I do yet. I also changed the name of the blog from "BeautyMark" to "SweetheartTabs." I wanted something with my name in it, without it being just my name... haha. Does that make sense? I went all out with it. I changed everything to SweetheartTabs... the blog, my Facebook page, my Instagram name. Everything. I hope you all like it, as well as all of the other changes I've made. I feel like the Header on here looks super generic. But it's better than what it was before!
Enough about the way everything looks. I want to talk about content. I did really well when I first started this blog about posting on here consistently. But then I started planning the wedding and things got insanely busy. I've slacked. BIG TIME. However, I'm happy to report that I have 6 posts filmed and ready to go for you all! I'm going to post once a week on here from now on. I want to set realistic goals for myself and I genuinely only have time to edit and post once a week. Doing more than that makes it more like work instead of fun. I freaking LOVE makeup, and creating looks and different posts for you guys. But it's a WHOLE LOT more work than you think. Anyway, I WILL have regular content being posted on here from now on. I don't plan on going away for months at a time again, haha.
I also want to discuss a YouTube channel. I'll be honest... I'm scared to death to post on YouTube. That's why I haven't. I've actually sat down and made I think 3 different videos in the past year. And all of them suck. Hahaha. One time I filmed an entire video with my microphone off, hahaha. I fully intend to start making videos, though. And I want to set a goal for myself to start posting videos by a certain date. If I don't, I'll just continue to be too scared to even try. And how can you fulfill a dream if you're too scared to do it? I'm ridiculous, I know. I just need to do it.
Okay, let's get into this look. It's exactly what the title says - a warm AND cool toned smokey eye. I almost love this look. I know - almost love it? Yes. Just almost. I'll explain later on. Until then, if you want to know how I achieved this look, then just keep on reading!
| We're gonna start with the eyes! I used the Lorac Behind the Scenes eye primer to start things off. |
| For this look, I wanted to use the Urban Decay VICE 3 palette that came out last year. I really like this palette, but I never reach for it. Not sure why. But that's why I grabbed it this day. It has sooooo many pretty colors in it! |
| After I applied primer to my eyes, I went in with the color "Undone" as a base all over the lid. |
| Then I went in with Mac "Uninterrupted" in the crease. I love this color! |
| There I am, adding "Uninterrupted" to the crease with a big fluffy brush from Morphe Brushes. I'll link all products used at the end of this post. |
| For the lid, I used the color "Puddin'" from the TooFaced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette. |
| After packing "Puddin'" on the lid, I went back in with my fluffy brush and blended everything out so there were no harsh lines. |
| I then went back into the VICE 3 palette and picked up a bit of "Defy" and added that color to the outer corners of the eyes. |
| With that "Defy" color, I wanted to create a winged out shape. |
| Here's what it looks like at this point. |
| For liner, I chose Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in "Trooper." |
| I made quite a long, but straight wing. |
| Here's a new find! The Elf Makeup Remover Pen. This thing is amazing. If you mess up, or you just want to clean up a line, this is the perfect product. It has a small tip that is filled with makeup remover - but not too much. And I use it ALL the time! |
| I used it to clean up my liner and make a more crisp wing. |
| Here is the top part of the eyes finished! |
| I wanted to have super glowy skin. .So before foundation, I applied MAC's Strobe Cream to my face. This is just a moisturizer with a shimmer in it. Not like glitter, just an awesome glow. |
| For foundation I used the NARS Luminous Weightless foundation in the color Santa Fe. This foundation gives you a very dewy, glowy finish. |
| Foundation is done. |
| For concealer, I used NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the color "Honey." |
| I always blend out my concealer with this little stippling brush. Again, I believe this is from Morphe. |
| To set my under eyes, I chose the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette. I used the middle color - Incandescent Light. |
| To set the rest of the face, I used the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in "Medium Plus." |
| Look at that glow! |
| Moving on to brows, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the color "Taupe." |
| I used a small amount of product along with a light hand to fill in my brows. |
| One brow done! |
| Look at the difference! Hahaha... what if I just went out with one brow done? |
| To set those brows in place, I used the Maybelline Brow Drama in the color "Blonde." |
| You can't hardly tell in this picture, but the wand on this thing is crazy looking! It's a good product though! |
| To bronze up the face, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette. I used the color on the bottom right on my cheeks and along my hairline. |
| Yay! We have color! And a resting bitch face! |
| To contour, I used Benefit Hoola. Just a little contouring. Nothing too crazy. |
| Look! I have cheek bones now! |
| For blush I used Becca Mineral Blush in the color "Flowerchild." |
| We're almost there! |
| As if I needed anymore glow... I just can't help myself! For highlight, I used Becca "Opal" along the high points of the cheeks. |
| #highlightonfleek - That is literally the only time I'll use the word "fleek." |
| Moving back to the eyes, I used Urban Decay 24/7 liner in "Smoke" to line my upper and lower waterlines. |
| I smudged a little of that liner down onto my lower lids as well. |
| Then I blended that out a bit. |
| Then I went back into "Puddin'" and added some of that to the lower lash line as well. |
| I used that big fluffy brush we used for the crease color to blend everything out some more. I didn't use any extra product. Just what was left on the brush. Lower lash line is now done! |
| For lashes I used TooFaced Better Than Sex mascara. |
| Lashes are done. This is where I was a little disappointed with this look. I have pretty long lashes naturally, but I REALLY wanted to put on some false lashes as well, just to punch this look up more. But i couldn't find my lash glue ANYWHERE. So, I went without lashes. It doesn't look bad at all without lashes... I just really wanted to wear some with this look. That's why I just *almost* love this look, haha. |
| For lips, I used "Creme Cup" by MAC. |
| And here's the final look! |
There you have it! I hope you all like this look! I will see you soon with another fun look. I've done a ton of colorful looks for you all ;). Oh! And if you want to see a list of all products used in this tutorial, I've put everything below along with links for where you can get them too! I hope you all have a great week!
