Eyebrow Tutorial

Hey everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you all had an amazing New Year's Eve. Mine was spent relaxing with my boyfriend, catching up on some shows. It was awesome!

Today's post is a full brow tutorial. I've had a couple of requests for this specific post, so I'm very happy to get this up for you all. Now, I'm not perfect at brows by any means. But, I'll show you how I do mine and hopefully you will learn something useful, haha. Let's go ahead and get started. All tips will be in the captions underneath each photo. Enjoy!

So, lets start out with the basics of brow shapes. Everyone has different brows shapes, but the "rules," so-to-speak, are the same. First, take a pencil and place it right at the side of your nose, like so. That's where your brows should start.

Next, take the pencil and keep it pressed on the side of your nose, but tilt it until the top of the pencil is in the middle of your iris. That's where your arch should be.

Finally, tilt the pencil to the very corner of your eye. That's where your brow should end. This is the method I use to not only get the shape of my brows, but also to trim them.

Now, let's get in to how I fill the brows. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in "Medium Ash." This brow wiz is absolutely amazing. Seriously, a holy grail product for me. I've tried a lot of other brow products, but since I got this one, I haven't looked back. The brow wiz comes in a bunch of different colors, so you can be sure to find the exact match for you. It is not an actual wood-type pencil, it's a very fine wax pencil that twists up. It has the pencil on one end, and a spoolie on the other end. I really think this spoolie is made of magical things, because it works WAY better than other spoolies at really blending the product into the brows, and making them look natural. It's seriously amazing.

Extreme close up! First, I take the spoolie end of the pencil and brush out my brows.

Next I take the pencil end of the brow wiz and outline my brow. I draw a straight line on the bottom part of my brow to my arch and stop. Then I draw a line from my arch, down to the tail of my brow. I always draw the line a little farther down than where my natural brows end. I like the tail to have a fine point. Then I draw a line on the top edge of my brow to the arch. From there, I round out the top of the arch with the brow wiz, and continue downward to the tail of my brow. I prefer the top of my arch to be a little rounded rather than a sharp angle. I really like that it makes it look a little more natural rather than super sharp and drawn on.

Next, I take the brow wiz and start drawing using vertical strokes. I do this at the start of my brows, because my hairs grow straight up in that area. I'm just following the grain of the way my hair grows.

This is what I have so far.

Next, I start filling in the brows in all the way to the arch. Here I am using small horizontal strokes, again mimicking the way my hair naturally grows.

Here is the way it looks with the brows just filled in to the arch.

Then I fill in the brows from the arch, downward towards the tail. I only fill in where my hair grows and no further down. Like I said earlier, I like to have a pointed tail.

And that's the brow completely filled in!

Again, I take the spoolie end of the brow wiz and I brush through the brows again just to blend the pencil strokes and my natural brows together.

Here they are brushed out. They don't really look any different, but I do it anyway.

I then take either a tiny bit of concealer, or this Rimmel London flesh color eyeliner and clean up the edges of the brows. I don't always do this, and it is completely optional. But for the sake of giving you a full brow tutorial, I definitely wanted to show you this.

With either concealer or a flesh colored eyeliner, I outline the brow then blend it all out. This cleans up any mistakes and creates a sharper looking brow.

All blended out!

To keep the brows in place, I use this Maybelline Great Lash clear mascara.

It looks like I have some kinda gunk in my brows, but I assure you they're just wet from the clear mascara. Once it dries, it doesn't look nasty like this, haha.

And there you have it! Finished brows!

You can really see the difference. Filling in your brows is so important in making your look complete. They frame your face and make your eyes stand out more.

So that's it! Again, I'm not perfect at this. I just wanted to show you all the way I fill in my brows in hopes that it helps you and teaches you a method of how you can do your brows. It is super simple and quick. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below or on my Facebook page "Beautymark."
