A Little Silver Glitter and A Pop of Purple

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! Today's post is another New Year's look for you. I wanted to do something a little different, and on trend for 2014. As you all may know, Pantone's 2014 color of the year is "Radiant Orchid." I absolutely looooove this color, so I chose to incorporate it into this tutorial. And because it's New Year's, of course I had to add some glitter, haha. This look is super easy to create, but packs a big punch. So, let's get started. All tips will be in the captions below each photo. Enjoy!

It was really hot when I started filming, that's why my face is red.

Sooo, I may have forgotten to take a picture of the primer and foundation I used. It's just the usual -Benefits The POREfessional face primer and  Revlon 24hr ColorStay Foundation in the color "250 Fresh Beige."

Next, I went ahead and filled in my brows. I actually filmed a brow tutorial during this makeup also. That's coming up later this week!

Moving on to the eyes, I used the NYX Matte Bronzer in the color "Medium."

I just took a large, fluffy blending brush and applied that bronzer right into the crease. Make sure you blend it out really well, as we want it to look very natural.

For liner I used the L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip liquid liner to create a super long wing.

Like so.

Moving back to the face, I used Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind concealer in the color "Light."

To highlight, I applied the concealer in a triangle shape underneath the eyes and on the chin. I blended all that out with a large stippling brush.

To set the face, I used Rimmel London's Stay Matte Pressed Powder in the color "Transparent."

All powdered!

To warm up the face, I went back to the NYX Bronzer.

I applied it to the hollows of the cheeks, along the hairline and jawline.

For blush I used Milani's Baked Blush in Berry Amore.

Such an AMAZING blush!

Next I applied this Rimmel London White Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil to the waterline.

Now for some fun, I used this Femme Couture Glitter Liquid Eyeliner in "Chain Reaction." You can purchase this at Sally's.

I added the glitter liner along the black liner. One important tip that I will give you is NOT to open your eyes completely until this stuff is dry. You'd think I would've thought of that to begin with, but I didn't. You'll see that mistake in later pictures, haha.

I wanted to add more to the eyes, so I applied my FAVORITE Ardell false lashes - Demi Wispies.

Now for the drama! For the lips I first applied this Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in "Shameless."

In. Looooooooooove!!!

To top off the look, I used this Revlon Gloss in "Fuchsia Finery."

Lastly, I used the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara on the bottom lashes.

And we're finished!!

Ha! There's the glitter on my crease.

Attitude!

New Year's Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Usually Christmas is a big rush of events for my boyfriend and I, and we only get to spend a couple hours with each part of our families. But this year we made some changes. We got to spend a lot of time with my family this week, which was amazing. And then we'll have Christmas this weekend with his family, and I'm very excited about it! A whole week of Christmas is pretty awesome. It always comes and goes so fast though!

Now we're moving on to New Year's. I really love this time of the year when it comes to makeup. You have so many events to go to, which means fun, over-the-top makeup looks! Today's tutorial is no exception, so let's get started! All of the tips will be in the captions below each picture. Enjoy!

Starting with a bare face.

First I primed my face with Benefit's The POREfessional face primer.

For foundation I used Revlon's 24hr Colorstay foundation in the color "250 Fresh Beige."

Foundation is complete!

Moving on to the eyes, I primed them with the Lorac Behind the Scenes eye primer.

Since we're using gold shadows, I wanted a light base that would help the gold pop. So, I used this Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eye Studio cream eye shadow in the color "Barely Branded."

I spread that all over the lids from lash line to brow bone.

I picked up this eye shadow quad from Maybelline today.

Absolutely love this color palette!

This is the "150 Desert Fantasy" quad. This is a limited edition product, but I just picked mine up from Walgreen's today and there were a few of them left. So you should still be able to get this quad at your local Walgreen's.

I'm first going to take this gold color and spread it over the lids from the lash line to just below the crease.

Like so.

Next I took the color "Taupe" from the LoracPRO palette and blended that right into the crease.

Like so.

Then I'm going back to the eye shadow quad, and I'm going to take this matte black shade and apply it to the outer-V of the eyes.

Since this is a black shadow, you want to start off with very little product and build up the color as you go until you get the desired effect. The shadows in this quad are all very pigmented, so a little goes a long way.

I wanted to create a really sharp edge to my eye look, so I took my concealer - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in the color "Light" and cleaned up the outside edges of the eyes.

You don't need much concealer. Just enough to clean up that edge.

I used this Real Techniques brush to make those edges really crisp.

You should now have something like this.

Moving on to eyeliner! I used my favorite L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip liquid liner and created a long wing on each eye.

Like so. I wanted a long wing, but a thin line along the lashes.

Next I took the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the color "Zero" and tight-lined my upper lash line and also applied it to my waterline.

Liner is applied!

Now back to concealer for the under eyes and chin.

I applied this in a triangle shape underneath the eyes, around the nose and a little on the chin.

And now we're concealed!

To set the face, I used Rimmel London's Stay Matte powder in the color "Transparent."

No more shine!

For bronzer I used this NYX Matte Bronzer in the color "Medium."

I created a slight contour with the bronzer.

For blush I used the Milani Baked Blush in the color "Luminoso."

I applied that to the apples of the cheeks and blended back towards the temples.

Going back to the eyes, I used the lightest color from the Maybelline eye shadow quad to highlight the inner corners of the eyes.

Like so.

Then, with the same pencil brush, I went back into the black shadow and applied it lightly to the outer corners of the lower lash line.

Like so.

I wanted to add some sparkle to this look, because it's New Year's and what better time to add glitter, right? This is Femme Couture Glitter Liquid EyeLiner in the color "Honey Dust." This is available at Sally's.

I applied this from the inner corner to the middle portion of the lower lash line.

Like so. You can't tell at all from this picture, but this was insanely sparkly! There was gold glitter as well as holo glitter in this liner and it was STUNNING in person!

For brows I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the color "Medium Ash."

Brows are done, and I look annoyed?

For mascara I used the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara. I only applied a really thin coat to the top lashes because we're applying falsies.

Picked these pretty babies up today at Sally's. These are my absolute FAVORITE lashes! The Demi Wispies. They're really natural looking, but give your lashes more fullness. They're gorgeous!

Lashes applied! I did go back and apply a thin line of liquid liner along the band of the lashes to blend them in more.

I wanted a nude lip with this look, but you could easily do a red or berry lip with this and it would look amazing! This is "Nude" from Milani.

Lipstick applied. I wasn't satisfied...

So I added this NYX Butter Gloss in the color "Creme Brulee."

And below is the finished look! Please excuse the mess of hair I have going on... haha.
