How To: Winged Liner

Hey everyone! Today's post is a "how-to" on winged eyeliner. I don't know about you, but I looooove a good winged liner. I have been wearing this look for a long time. Try almost 10 years. You'd think I would get tired of it, but I just really like the way it elongates my eyes and gives the illusion of a totally different eye shape. Creating this look can be a little tricky sometimes, so I'm going to show you a couple different ways to do it! For this tutorial, I chose to use L'Oreal's Carbon Black Liquid Lineur Intense.

The first step in this method is to line the inner three quarters of your eye. You can make it as thick or thin as you like. Note: If you start with a thin line at first, it's easier to build up and get the thickness you want after you create your wing.

Next, by using your lower lash line as a guide, draw a line upwards at an angle (as pictured below). Pretend as if you are extending your lower lash line upwards with your liner. You can make your line as long or short as you feel comfortable with.

Then draw a line from about three quarters of the way up the outer line, and connect it with the liner you applied on the inner three quarters of your eye, like so.  This is where you can build up your liner to be as thick as you want it to be.

Then fill in the empty area, and you have your wing! (Please excuse the fact that I did not take the liner all the way down to my lashes on a part of my eye).

Let's try another method. This one is the opposite of the first method. This one gives you a straighter wing. The first step is the same as above. Line the inner three quarters of your eye with the liner of your choice. Again, make it as thick or thin as you like.

The next step is to extend the same line out as far as you want it, like so.  Don't worry about making it perfectly straight here, as you can go back and fix that later.

Next, connect the outermost part of your liner with your bottom lash line.

Then fill in the outline, and you have your wing! Now you can go back and straighten up your line and fix any little mess ups, if need be.

Hopefully this tutorial is helpful for you all! If you have any questions or if you have a method you want to show me/tell me about, let me know in the comments below, or on my Facebook page, "Beautymark." Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

                                                   XOXO - Tabitha
